Command Sergeant Major Michael Starrett, a native of Texas, enlisted in the Army in October 1992. He attended Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia. CSM Starrett’s assignments include the 43rd Signal Battalion; 3/18 Field Artillery; 2/3 Field Artillery; 69th Signal Co, 504th Signal Battalion; B Company, 44th Expeditionary Signal Battalion; HHC, 44th Expeditionary Signal Battalion; 7th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade; First Sergeant, B Company, 67th Expeditionary Signal Battalion; First Sergeant, HHC, 7th Signal Command; Operations Sergeant Major, 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade; G6 Operations Sergeant Major, 7th Infantry Division; Battalion Command Sergeant Major, 51st Expeditionary Signal Battalion; and Garrison Command Sergeant Major, Fort Gordon, Georgia. He assumed duties as the Command Sergeant Major, 7th Signal Command (Theater) on 30 October 2020.
CSM Starrett’s education includes the Battle Staff Course, Unit Antiterrorism Advisor Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, all requisite NCOPDS and Pre-Command Courses, the First Sergeant Course, the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 65), and the Nominative Leader Course (Class 22-01). CSM Starrett also holds an associate’s degree in General Studies, and a bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies, Business, and Management.
