Alliance for Fort Gordon to Host Nation’s Largest CyberPatriot Summer Camp at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center
AUGUSTA, GA – This summer, Augusta will once again showcase why it has become one of America’s premier cyber education and innovation hubs as the Alliance for Fort Gordon hosts the nation’s largest standard CyberPatriot Summer Camp from June 22–26 at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center.
The camp, which reached capacity weeks before its start date, will welcome aspiring young cyber defenders from across the region for an immersive, hands-on cybersecurity experience. Offered completely free of charge, the camp reflects the Alliance’s commitment to developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and strengthening the talent pipeline that supports both national security and economic growth.
Throughout the week, students will engage in cybersecurity training tailored to varying skill levels, learning the fundamentals of network security, cyber defense, operating systems, and digital problem-solving. The camp culminates with a CyberPatriot competition, where participants put their newly acquired skills to the test in a simulated cyber defense environment.
“This camp is about much more than teaching technology,” said Dr. Tom Clark, President and CEO of the Alliance for Fort Gordon. “It is about inspiring young people to see themselves as future leaders in cybersecurity, STEM, and national defense. By bringing together students, educators, industry partners, and military stakeholders, we are helping build the workforce that will protect our nation’s digital future.”
CyberPatriot, created by the Air & Space Forces Association, is the nation’s premier youth cyber education program. Its flagship National Youth Cyber Defense Competition challenges middle and high school students to identify and correct cybersecurity vulnerabilities within virtual operating systems. The program introduces students to real-world cybersecurity concepts while encouraging teamwork, critical thinking, and technical excellence.
The camp’s location at the Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center further underscores Augusta’s growing role as a national center for cyber excellence. Located adjacent to Fort Gordon, home of the U.S. Army’s cyber operations enterprise, the Center serves as a unique collaboration hub connecting government, military, academia, and private industry to advance cybersecurity education, workforce development, and innovation.
“The Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center was created to foster exactly these types of opportunities,” Clark added. “When students walk through these doors, they are surrounded by the organizations, technologies, and professionals that define the future of cybersecurity. It is an incredible environment for learning and inspiration.”
The Alliance for Fort Gordon has long championed initiatives that strengthen the region’s cyber ecosystem, support military missions, and create opportunities for students and professionals alike. Hosting the nation’s largest CyberPatriot camp reflects the organization’s continued investment in preparing the next generation of cyber talent while supporting the strategic importance of Augusta’s cyber community.
